Arenanet put out a call to get people liking Guild Wars 2 on facebook. The reward being the video below which you could view after liking Guild Wars 2.

It’s got fangirl favourite Colin Johanson, and what looks to be a lot of people fighting in World Versus World. It’s not long at all, check it out.

  1. Thanx for posting the video Hunter… I got the email too of course, but I don’t have (and I’m not going to get) a facebook login acct so I was curious about it still.
Pretty brief… definitely looked like WvW to me also.

    • Yeah I’m not a big fan of the like to see thing.

  2. I have to say, I wasn’t terribly impressed by what amounted to ~45 seconds worth of footage. Sure, it was pretty. We got some nice perspectives on WvW as well, but nothing really stood out as new to me, other than, say, the asura ele at the beginning. We could nitpick it to death, but meh.

I appreciate that they made a video for us as a thank you for the beta army, but I also feel like it was a bit thrown together.

    Do I sound ungrateful?

    • I didn’t see a problem with it. It’s a nice video with cool wvw footage.

  3. Nitpicky? Pft, let me. Nice video, liked the siege weapon thing. But what exactly do they mean when they say “sending out invites soon”? I’ve change my phone to check for emails every 5 minutes…. And that was hours ago!!!!!! I’ll soon get soo excited that I’ll burst! Who’s “soon”er is going to come first?

    • The beta is in late march, if i had to guess they’ll send out invites the week before, at which point you’ll have to download 13 or so gigs. Patience melski.

  4. Loved it! I tell you what, the people who learn to dodge and maneuver will dominate in PvP until others figure it out. At 30 seconds you can see everyone in a big clump. Oh! Lobbing a ball of fire from a trebuchet, I’m having Age of Kings flash backs. This was great, thank you for posting.

    • Dodging is definitely going to be integral. And all those groups of people standing at gates breaking them down? Potential for massacres.

  5. I’m quiet happy to see a T-Rating, while it may limit the audience it sets the bar at a level I can agree with, I hope it does not go higher.

    • I agree, we here in Australia ban anything above M for sure, and sometimes M cause we just want to. I had nightmares about having to move to New Zealand for a reason other than wanting to own my own affordable home…
I dont need violence to enjoy my gaming, and I’d rather not be so embarrised by the female characters that i can’t play it infront of other people ala Connan.
Don’t think there was ever any chance of it going higher than T, I think GW was 12+ and then never mentioned it.

      • Yahtzee has said this many times and I was surprised the first time I heard it. I wander if they tried to get T just for that?

      • There probably isn’t much point in making an MMO a mature game, i can only think of one M mmo and that was conan.

    • I don’t think there was ever a chance of it being anything but T really.
